Another year, another class....
With the beginning of another school year, many students find that they are struggling or behind. If this is the case, do not wait until you begin failing classes. As soon as you realize that you are behind, let someone know! It is always better to act before it becomes too overwhelming.
Why is tutoring essential?
As a student, you know how frustrating learning can be. It is even more frustrating knowing that you are not prepared for an upcoming test, and are struggling in your classes now. Tutoring can be the answer! There are four main reasons to get tutoring: |
1. |
You are behind.
If you get behind in a class, it is nearly impossible to catch back up. By attending a few tutoring sessions, you can easily catch back up with your class, and even surpass them! Sumner Learning works with the struggling student by using innovative methods that are proven to work! By designing the curriculum around the student’s needs, we guarantee that your child will become successful up to his/her potential, and will not have to worry about being a failure again!
|
2. |
You want to get ahead.
Some students do not need remediation; however, they want to achieve more success beyond their classmates. Tutoring is a great opportunity for a student to get individualized help, and to get a jump-start on new materials about to be taught. Sumner Learning allows advanced students to learn and apply higher level thinking skills in areas of the curriculum that is about to be taught. This gives the students an edge that is typically not taught in public schools, but is perfect preparation for college!
|
3. |
You need confidence.
Sometimes all it takes is a few sessions of one-on-one tutoring to bring up a person’s confidence level. The student knows how to do the skills; he/she just is not confident enough in his/her own abilities to perform well on quizzes or tests. Sumner Learning uses unique methods of encouragement and enthusiasm to bring out the spirit of your child.

4. |
4. You want to prepare for a standardized test, such as the ACT, SAT, or Gateway exams.
Tests are stressful enough besides knowing that this test could effect your high school graduation or college scholarships. Research has proven that students who attend test preparation programs not only score higher, but also receive more scholarship funds. Parents, you can spend more money on college later, or spend a little bit of money now on tutoring for test prep!
