Sumner Learning is owned and operated by Leann Warren. Ms. Warren has a B.A. degree from Georgetown College in mathematics and a M.S.T degree from Middle Tennessee State University in secondary mathematics education. She will obtain a Masters’ Plus Thirty degree in the summer of 2004 from Cumberland University and Canter Associates. She is currently a math teacher at Hume-Fogg Magnet High School in Nashville and teaches computer science at Vanderbilt’s Program for Talented Youth during the summer.
Ms. Warren has assisted in writing the Metro-Nashville district curriculum in Algebra II and Discrete math, while creating numerous activities and doing research on various topics in mathematics education. Her graduate research included reporting on effective technology tools for statistics education at the 2001 Joint Statistics Meeting in New York City. She was also nominated in 1999 for Disney’s Teacher of the Year.
